Kilts, tartan, England, another favourite historical period of mine. Painting tartan is always a challenge. Colour combinations, stripes, lines…I always enjoy painting.
When painting this bust, I wanted to depict a young, freckled soldier. As close as possible to the appearance of the people on this island.
